The origin of its name came from the following story – one of the founding ‘fathers’ set up camp after a long journey and started to cook using a makeshift kitchen called ‘sabak’ owned by ‘enam’ (meaning six) individuals. Hence, the name Sabak Bernam. Sabak Bernam is located by the Bernam river estuary, which is now named Sungai Lang.
