If you are visiting here, it would be incomplete without paragliding at Bukit Jugra. Located near Banting, it is known as one of the best beginner-friendly paragliding sites in Selangor and is perfect for first-time thrill-seekers. At 400 ft above the ground, visitors get to glide through the wind and enjoy a panoramic view of the hill. Typically, the best time for a fly is between 10:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.
For those who prefer the lush landscape over adrenaline thrills, head over to Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands for a first-hand experience that feels like stepping into a nature documentary. So, hop onto a safari truck and embark on a 45-minute scenic tour through the tranquil bamboo paths and along the Sendayan Lake. Plus, the visit would be incomplete without a boat cruise across the dazzling lake for a moment of peace amidst nature.
In addition, Bangkita Ceramic Studio offers an artistic experience for visitors who prefer a calmer activity where they get to express themselves through art. The studio provides a few workshops for both beginners and advanced learners, such as pottery class, hand-build class, and glazing class at a reasonable price. MUST-VISIT ICONIC LANDMARKS
Rich in history, Kuala Langat will leave you in awe with its iconic landmarks that hold thousands of stories, giving a glimpse of Selangor’s true essence. For history lovers, head over to Jugra Hill, a historically significant area that offers not only mesmerising views of the Langat River, but also holds a fragment of Selangor’s glory past as a former administrative centre. Nestled on top of the hill, the Jugra Insitu Museum was originally a police station, now an information hub for visitors to showcase Kuala Langat’s living tapestry.
Nearby, Istana Bandar stood majestically, renowned as one of the oldest royal castles in Selangor. It functioned as the royal palace during the administrative period in the 19th century, and has now become a fragment of the past. From this, visitors get to deeply appreciate the historical double-storey architecture, and reminisce about the time through the 40 rooms in the castle, like the throne room and banquet room.
For a coastal escape, head to Pantai Morib, where the sea breezes will lull you into a much-needed rest. Here, visitors get to have a picnic with loved ones or simply enjoy the picturesque view of the sunset. Similar to that, Sijangkang Paya Bakau offers the natural beauty of mangrove along the river. There’s an 800-metre trail that brings you along the river to explore the flora and fauna of the mangrove, which appears more visibly during low tide.

GOOD FOOD: THE KEY TO LOCALS’ HEART
Just as the saying goes, “The key to a person’s heart is through the stomach”, Kuala Langat offers a variety of delights that have long captured the locals’ hearts, and visitors are soon to follow. Head over to Soto Wak Dol, a neighbourhood favourite restaurant known for serving one of the best soto in the district. Its clean and flavourful broth has become the locals’ go-to comfort meal for a hearty lunch.
However, if you prefer a cosy cafe to unwind, check out Setalam Sedulang, an eatery with a blend of Western and local cuisines. Try their unique signature pasta, Linguine Kampung and flavourful Udang Harimau Masak Lemak with steamed white rice that will surely get your taste buds celebrating with joy.
As always, no meal is complete without a dessert to end it. Cool down with a bowl of cold and creamy Cendol at Cendol Ibrahim Banting, a must-try sweet for an instant refreshing relief against Kuala Langat’s heat. For something more nostalgic, head over to HeriTaste for their signature Kacang Tumbuk. This heritage nutty snack is crunchy, yet melts in your mouth with the taste of caramelised palm sugar syrup and the aroma of roasted crushed peanuts.
To finish off, make a stop at Kerepek Ros Banting, a paradise for traditional kerepek and kuih, a must-have item in each local’s household in Malaysia. Here, visitors get to stock up on their beloved kerepek like Kerepek Nangka or Kerepek Pisang, especially for snacking at home or on a long road trip. On top of that, the price is far lower than at malls or other shops.

DIVE INTO THE SEA OF CULTURES AND TRADITIONS
Not to forget, Kuala Langat is a district that is brimming with a diversity of cultures and traditions. One of the prominent cultures in Kuala Langat is the Mah Meri Tribe, an indigenous community in Peninsula Malaysia.
