A royal palace that has watched the growth of majestic Selangor, Alam Shah Palace
was originally completed in 1960. The noble dwelling has enjoyed several extensions and underwent a renovation just before Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah’s coronation ceremony in 2003.
Istana Alam Shah features interesting downhill steps that lead to manicured gardens. The two horseshow-shaped porches flank the front of the palace; the main one is reserved for royalty and dignitaries. Its elevated location on a hill provides a clear view of Sultan Suleiman Shah Mosque.
The crowning glory of the palace is the golden dome that supported by an octagon-shaped pillar while its corner are topped with two blue-domed tower that highlights classical designs of the Middle East.
