Dusun Tua Hot Springs at Batu 16, Hulu Langat are hot springs resulting from sulfur reactions in the soil. Like any other hot springs, it is a great benefit for some individuals. Located in a strategic location (albeit private land), it has been leveraged for public use. Anyone is allowed to take a bath in this pool with simple rules. Since it’s not a pool, no one is allowed to soak in the pool. Just use the bucket provided. Even so, it is well worth the bath. The environment is well maintained. There are about 10 small wakaf huts built to make it easier for visitors to place items. The dressing room makes the dressing session even easier. The bath area has been segregated between men and women. However, the water source is still from the same pool. The area is open daily from 7.30am to 7.30pm.

[Gombak Hulu Langat Geopark]

Dusun Tua Hot Spring Complex is one of the Gombak-Hulu Langat Geopark’s geosites, which is Batu 16 and Sungai Serai villages, and has scientific, recreational, and cultural heritage significance. The hot spring at IKTBN Dusun Tua recorded the highest temperature at 74 degrees Celsius (°C), and the basic infrastructure, such as toilets, ablution area, changing rooms, and parking, has been prepared in each hot spring of the Dusun Tua Hot Spring Complex.

The Dusun Tua Hot Spring Complex comprises the National Youth High Skills Institute (IKTBN) hot spring, the MPKK Dusun Tua hot spring, the Batu 16 hot spring, and the Sungai Serai hot spring. This hot spring complex is the result of surface water heating along fractures formed during episodes of erosion, displacement and formation of the Jura-Cretaceous basin. The major fault runs North-West-South-East and is part of the Bukit Tinggi fault zone, which is cut by a series of cracks running vertically North-East-South-West. Currently, the only public hot springs are Sungai Serai Hot Springs and Dusun Tua, which have the most minimal facilities and are maintained by a private owner.
