This traditional folk game is played and spread widely in most states in Malaysia. It is not surprising if a game found in a state like Kedah is also found in other states. Maybe the pronunciation and playing methods are slightly different. It is difficult to ascertain the exact origin of the existence of these games. It is a unique cultural heritage that is passed down from one generation to another. Creative games are often entertaining for players and spectators.
This traditional game is very simple because it only uses discarded materials such as bottle caps, empty cans and coconut shells or from plants such as rubber seeds and sago seeds. Usually this traditional game is played in free time and the place of the game depends on the type of game whether inside or outside. Among the examples of indoor games are “Bebat Tangan”, “Skewer Blades”, and “Bottle Caps”, while examples of outdoor games are “Gasing”, and “Pull Up”.
