MEDIA RELEASE
Kuala Lumpur, 6 September 2025 – Tourism Selangor once again adds colour to the MATTA Fair September 2025 at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur by presenting its largest-ever Selangor Pavilion, themed “88 Exhibitions Towards 8 Million Tourists.”
The Selangor Pavilion features 88 exhibition booths represented by nearly 30 tourism product operators, including agro and edutainment attractions such as Farm Fresh@UPM, Chocolate Museum, and Selangor Fruit Valley. Adding more excitement, Farm Fresh@UPM showcases six well-known brands including Inside Scoop and BurgerMan, offering visitors a variety of unique experiences.
In this edition, Tourism Selangor also unveils exclusive collections in conjunction with Visit Selangor Year 2025 (VSY2025), namely a special postage stamp in collaboration with Pos Malaysia and a limited ceramic collection with Bangkita Ceramic Studio, a Selangor-born SME product from Kuala Langat. This initiative aligns with the State Government’s mission to elevate local SMEs while strengthening Selangor’s international presence.
The Selangor Pavilion’s participation in the MATTA Fair has proven to deliver positive results, with the April 2025 edition recording sales exceeding RM1 million. Tourism Selangor is confident that this achievement will be doubled with more brand participation, diverse tourism offerings, and growing visitor demand.
As of the first half of 2025, Selangor has welcomed 4.14 million tourist arrivals, equivalent to 51% of the State’s target of 8 million visitors by the end of the year. This success reflects the strong confidence of tourists in Selangor as Malaysia’s premier travel destination.
In a statement, Selangor State Executive Councillor for Local Government and Tourism, YB Dato’ Ng Suee Lim, said the Selangor Pavilion at MATTA Fair is not just an exhibition space, but a strategic platform to introduce tourism products, stimulate the community’s economy, and promote Selangor’s identity. In line with the State Government’s aspirations, we want tourism to be developed inclusively, sustainably, and to bring direct benefits to the people of Selangor.
