SELANGOR, 8 December 2025 — Tourism Selangor has officially opened the evaluation process for the Selangor Tourism Iconic Products 2025, featuring five key categories this year; Agrotourism, Medical Tourism, Culture & Heritage Tourism, Gastronomy (Food) Tourism and Community-Based Tourism.
The evaluation initiative began in 2024, when Tourism Selangor introduced a comprehensive assessment for tourism attractions across the state. A total of 20 attractions were recognised last year under four categories; Nature, Adventure & Ecotourism, Man-Made Tourism, Sports & Recreation Tourism, and Shopping, Recreation & Lifestyle Tourism. Among those awarded were standout attractions such as the Chocolate Museum, Farm in the City, HL Dragon Fruit Eco Farm, Skyline Luge, and Cloud Bass Paragliding Park, Kuala Kubu Bharu.
This assessment was introduced to pave the way for an Accreditation and Certification Programme, serving as a reliable reference for both domestic and international tourists regarding the quality of tourism products offered in Selangor. Through systematic monitoring and on-site evaluations, Tourism Selangor aims to ensure that tourism attractions in the state meet the required standards of safety, facilities, services and visitor experience. This initiative also supports the enhancement of Selangor’s tourism reputation while contributing to the state’s local economic growth.
Tourism Selangor’s Chief Executive Officer, Chua Yee Ling, said that all Local Councils have shown strong support for Tourism Selangor in driving the Visit Selangor Year (VSY) 2025 campaign by ensuring that attractions within their respective districts comply with state regulations.
“Through the Selangor Tourism Iconic Products assessment, our attractions have been able to improve according to the guidelines provided, which in turn positions them for recognition as preferred destinations in Selangor. We expect around 50 participants this year and we hope this effort will serve as a catalyst for establishing star-rated attractions in Selangor that offer not only memorable experiences, but also safety, strong infrastructure and hospitality that meets international standards,” she said.
The Selangor Tourism Iconic Products 2025 participation is now open and will run until 29 December 2025.
