Sekinchan, Sabak Bernam – In conjunction with Visit Selangor Year 2025 (VSY2025), the Selangor State Government, through Tourism Selangor, will organize the Sekinchan Paddy Festival 2025, set to take place from 26 to 27 April 2025 at Sekinchan Terminal, Jalan Parit 5, Sekinchan, Sabak Bernam. This two-day event aims to promote Sekinchan’s uniqueness as a leading agrotourism destination, blending the beauty of paddy fields, cultural heritage, and local gastronomy.
The festival has several key objectives, including showcasing the charm of Selangor’s northern coastal region with its breathtaking paddy fields. Visitors will have the opportunity to ride the Sekinchan Tram through golden-hued paddy fields while enjoying scenic views. The event will also feature a Food Festival and Tourism Exhibition, highlighting local culinary delights and tourism products.
A variety of exciting activities and programs have been planned, such as, Paddy Field Run (5km & 10km categories), Sekinchan Travel Hunt, Cultural performances by local art groups, Pasar Palong (market), U-PLATS Food Festival, Tourism exhibition, Sound of Cloud at Sekinchan Terminal, Glamping Set-Up by Anbot Store, Sekinchan Paddy Field 4×4 Challenge Sales Exhibition by CUCKOO Malaysia and Free Health Screening by KPJ Healthcare. The festival will be officially inaugurated by The Honorable Dato’ Menteri Besar of Selangor, alongside The Honorable EXCO for Local Government and Tourism.
YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, the Menteri Besar of Selangor, stated, “The Sekinchan Paddy Festival 2025 is a key platform to boost rural tourism in line with the Visit Selangor Year 2025 campaign. We believe strategic collaboration with local communities will strengthen the state’s economy and promote Selangor as a unique tourism destination.”
YB Dato’ Ng Suee Lim, Selangor Tourism EXCO, added, “Sekinchan is not just a rice granary area but also a symbol of harmony between nature and culture. This festival will attract domestic and international tourists to experience distinctive agrotourism. We are targeting 13,000 visitors over the two-day event.”
