STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP DRIVES SUCCESS FOR VISIT SELANGOR YEAR 2025
SHAH ALAM, 19 FEBRUARY 2025In a significant move to strengthen the state’s tourism sector, Tourism Selangor has taken a bold step by forging strategic partnerships with private companies to amplify the momentum of Visit Selangor Year (VSY) 2025. A Memorandum of Collaboration signing ceremony was held in conjunction with the Visit Selangor Year 2025 Exhibition at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Building, coinciding with the Opening of the Selangor State Assembly 2025.
The event was graced by YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin bin Shari, Chief Minister of Selangor, along with other esteemed state leaders. Four prominent companies; SONY Malaysia, Batik Air Malaysia, GL Play by Gamuda Land and Alpha IVF & Women Specialist has formally inked the memorandum, signifying their commitment to supporting the growth of the state’s tourism industry.
According to YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin bin Shari, “Visit Selangor Year 2025 is a key initiative in positioning Selangor as a leading tourism destination in Malaysia and the region. Through strategic collaborations with various stakeholders, we are confident that the state’s tourism sector will continue to thrive, bringing positive economic impact and creating greater opportunities for local communities.”
The event also featured a variety of exciting programs, including a promotional gimmick where the official VSY 2025 vehicle stickers were affixed to the Visit Selangor Year 2025 Roadshow fleet. This initiative, made possible through partnerships with the Selangor Concierge Association, Prestige Lane Adventure Sdn Bhd, AVIS and the Selangor 4WD Association, aims to enhance the reach of the campaign’s promotional efforts.
Additionally, RM200,000 of Tourism Association Grants were awarded to 20 tourism associations in recognition of their contributions to industry development. Simultaneously, the Selangor Tourism Product Recognition 2024 was presented to 20 recipients, celebrating their efforts in enriching the state’s tourism experience.
More than 30 key industry players including hotel operators, theme parks and hospitals also participated in a special Visit Selangor Year 2025 exhibition. This three-day event, held from 19 to 21 February 2025, offers visitors exclusive promotions and discounts of up to 50%.
YB Dato’ Ng Suee Lim, Selangor’s State Executive Councillor for Local Government and Tourism, emphasised that, “The Visit Selangor Year 2025 Exhibition held in conjunction with the State Assembly is a strategic initiative to introduce this campaign to Assembly Members and the wider public. With strong government and private sector support, we are committed to enhancing the travel experience in Selangor, making it a must-visit destination in 2025 and beyond.”
He further added, “Selangor aims to welcome 8 million visitors throughout Visit Selangor Year 2025, with projected economic transactions reaching RM11.7 billion. Collaborations with private companies will help expand promotional efforts and elevate the tourism experience across various sectors, including eco-tourism, medical tourism, theme parks and hospitality.”
