SELANGOR, 25 April 2025– Tourism Selangor kicked off Visit Selangor Year 2025 (VSY2025) with great success by recording RM 1.3 million in tourism sales at MATTA Fair 2025. The event took place over three days at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur. On top of that, Selangor also won the Best Booth Award under the State Tourism Organisation (STO) category, beating several other states.
Tourism Selangor brought together 100 tourism operators, including 30 official booths and 70 booths from industry players across the state. These booths showcased a variety of attractions, including hotels, theme parks, nature and agro-tourism, cultural activities, food experiences and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions).
The Selangor Pavilion drew huge crowds, with more than 100,000 visitors exploring the many attractions the state has to offer. One of the main highlights was a special live performance by popular singer Aizat Amdan, who debuted the official Visit Selangor Year 2025 theme song, “Surprising Selangor!”. Visitors also enjoyed exclusive travel deals like the Selangor Super Saver and Farm Fresh Annual Pass, along with lively cultural performances by the Selangor Malay Customs and Heritage Corporation (PADAT).
Chua Yee Ling, Chief Executive Officer of Tourism Selangor, said in a statement that the agency will continue to roll out exciting campaigns and activities throughout the year to attract more local and international tourists. “The encouraging response and increase in sales at this year’s MATTA Fair is a great sign. We are confident and motivated to keep promoting Selangor throughout Visit Selangor Year 2025,” she said.
