MEDIA RELEASE
Kuala Lumpur, 26 July 2025 — Tourism Selangor brings back the Selangor Travel Fair 2025 as one of the key tourism events of the state, taking place from 26 to 27 July 2025 at Central Market, Kuala Lumpur. With the theme of inclusivity, community and culture, the event is expected to attract 30,000 visitors and serve as one of the main drivers behind the success of the Visit Selangor Year 2025 campaign. Visit Selangor Year 2025 has now entered its second phase. Selangor has also recorded the highest number of domestic visitors in Malaysia for the year 2024, with 34.5 million visitors, marking four consecutive years at the top. This further proves Selangor’s strength as the country’s leading tourism destination.
Following the success of the first edition in 2024, which welcomed over 30,000 visitors and generated nearly RM300,000 in tourism transactions, the second edition of Selangor Travel Fair 2025 will bring together more than 30 tourism operators from across the state, with an expected transaction value of up to half a million ringgit. Visitors can explore a wide variety of iconic destinations including Farm Fresh @ UPM, Selangor Fruit Valley, SplashMania Waterpark, Skyline Luge, Chocolate Museum, as well as cultural and craft attractions from rural communities. This includes players from the theme park, agro-tourism, ecotourism, heritage and cultural, educational tourism and homestay segments.
Selangor Travel Fair 2025 also serves as the launchpad for the latest tourism campaign, “Selangor Kan Ada”, a continuation of the previous “Surprising Selangor” campaign. While “Surprising Selangor” highlighted the diversity of attractions, “Selangor Kan Ada” focuses on emotional connection, local attachment and authentic experiences. The campaign also emphasizes community participation, including cultural artists, homestay operators and small entrepreneurs, making Selangor’s tourism more inclusive and sustainable.
Selangor Travel Fair 2025 offers a comprehensive and interactive experience for all ages, including hands-on workshops such as Wau Kapal (traditional kite) making, photography sessions and community activities, cultural performances by traditional groups such as Balle Balle and PADAT, special performances by local artists Lah Ahmad and Aizat Amdan, as well as tourism package discounts of up to 50%.
